Kathmandu Climate Week 2026 · Theme

Climate Finance

Climate action in Nepal depends on whether money reaches the solutions and the people who need it.

Why it matters

Climate Finance at Kathmandu Climate Week

Nepal’s climate response requires accessible finance, alongside stronger institutions, accountable policy and resilient infrastructure. Public and international finance alone will not close the gap, and loss and damage raises hard questions about grants versus debt.

At KCW, businesses, banks, investors and entrepreneurs examine how they can direct capital, innovation and operations toward climate resilience and community-led action, moving beyond conventional CSR.

What we will discuss

  • Finance for loss and damage that goes beyond debt
  • How private climate finance can serve climate justice
  • Whether Nepal’s banks are really financing green
  • How capital can reach climate solutions on the ground
